ブルーグラスをベースとしたジャムバンドString Cheese Incidentは、マンドリン/バイオリンMichael Kang、ギターBill Nershi、ベースKeith Moseley、ピアノKyle HollingsworthとパーカッションMichael Travis、1993年に、コロラド州ボールダーで結成、ブルーグラス、カリプソ、サルサ、アフロポップ、ファンク、ロックとジャズを混ぜ込んだ独自の音楽はファンのハートをワシ掴み。そして半年もしないうちにTelluride Bluegrass Festivalに出演。年平均170を超えるライブをこなし、レコードレーベルSci Fidelityを設立、『Born on the Wrong Planet』96年でCDデビュー。『A String Cheese Incident Live』97年、『’Round the Wheel』98年、『the live Carnival '99』、『Outside Inside』01年、『Untying the Not』03年、『One Step Closer』05年
